Savannah Georgia is gearing up for one of her most exciting events since Paula Deen hosted the Real Women of Philadelphia contest in this lovely international port city. Locals were not surprised when the folks who operate the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon selected their wonderful city for the inaugural Run, Rock 'n' Roll event. However, no one anticipated that more than 23,000 runners would sign up, perhaps making this a world record breaking event in the history of inaugural city marathons.
In the spirit of the event and attention sure to come, Peas-Corp has announced "Team Whirled Peas". Proceeds from team shirts being sold via their Facebook site will support a local Savannah organization known as The Old Savannah City Mission. Peas-Corp was established with a mission to "pay it forward" and allocate a large percentage of its profits to organizations that serve marginalized populations within local communities.
