Tucson, AZ (Vocus/PRWEB) March 07, 2011

STC has created a new suite of tools called IHub that is designed to assist any immunization registry system with their interoperability efforts. These capabilities will also be on display at the upcoming National Immunization. With the advent of meaningful use, health information exchange, regional extension centers, Beacon Community grants, Interoperability grants, and the other efforts requiring the exchange of immunization information, Scientific Technologies Corporation (STC) and its state immunization program clients have been actively engaged in creating solutions to address these similar yet often competing initiatives. Todd Watkins, STC Managing Partner says, We recognize that most states have mature immunization registry systems that their health departments have invested heavily in over the years. This is why STC is excited about IHub and other registry components of ours that are capable of providing key meaningful use functionality while preserving each state's unique IIS investment.

Acquia Launches Web Solution Powerhouse Drupal Gardens 1.0

Woburn, M (Vocus/PRWEB) March 07, 2011

Acquia, the enterprise guide to Drupal, today announced the general availability release of Drupal Gardens 1.0 with new capabilities and pricing plans. The powerful new Views functionality makes Drupal Gardens the most robust web solution to rapidly assemble and deploy extraordinary social sites. With more than 40,000 sites created in the last year, Drupal Gardens is the fastest way to build content-rich, dynamic sites.

Views, a capability unique to Drupal, provides Drupal Gardens with an incomparable collection of tools for site builders with the simplicity of software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery. Without writing any code, Views makes it possible to create custom mashups or combinations of content, media, user profiles, and more. Site builders can point and click to pull together any information on their site and craft dynamic lists, grids, tables, reports, RSS feeds, and navigation. Views can also be configured to display different results based on visitor interactions, such as displaying posts submitted over the past month versus the most popular. With Views, Drupal Gardens sites can be easily assembled and deployed with completely custom dynamic content.

We have just leapfrogged the market of SaaS site builders with the introduction of Views in Drupal Gardens 1.0, said Chris Brookins, vice president engineering and product management at Acquia. While Views has always been one of the most powerful Drupal modules, we wanted to make it more accessible for site builders. Our team collaborated with the Drupal community, including Views creator Earl Miles, to develop a more intuitive Views user interface. With Views, Drupal Gardens is now the most robust SaaS website creation tool for content rich websites.

Importantly, there is no lock-in for site builders and owners with Drupal Gardens OpenSaaS approach. If there is a need to add custom modules, simply export the complete site -- theme, code and data -- to Acquia Dev Cloud or your own hosting environment. And, Drupal Gardens is affordable, offering a tiered pricing structure tailored for individuals and businesses of all shapes and sizes, including larger enterprises. For detailed pricing information, please visit: https://www.drupalgardens.com/pricing

Having a turnkey software-as-a-service like Drupal Gardens is invaluable for an interactive agency like VML, an Acquia Enterprise Select partner. Were able to spin-up sites in a matter of days versus the old way of taking months to develop and deploy, said Martin Coady, Director of Technical Strategy. We can then hand-off sites to our clients with the peace of mind that they can fully manage their sites content updates with Drupal Gardens easy interface.

Daminion Software Unveils New Version of Document Asset Management Solution

(PRWEB) March 7, 2011

Daminion Software, a leading company specializing in media document management solutions for creative pros, has announced the 0.8 beta version of its Document Asset Management software. The Daminion 0.8 beta is a pre-release version that will be made available for public testing before Daminion Software releases the final version of the program. The new beta version is focused on image cataloging and media management. As a result, it reduces the time and cost of asset retrieval and content production for creative professionals.

Powerful search capabilities provide immediate access to assets of all types, including multimedia and other documents. Daminion is able to easily locate digital images, videos, and documents using a range of criteria, including categories, keywords, camera lens, color labels, rating and creation date. Content can be filtered withover 30 tags in combination with AND/OR operators.

At the heart of the program is its ability to store data inside of media files, including copyright information. All image descriptions are stored inside the relevant files as metadata. Whenever users copy, email, or publish their images, videos, or documents, all of the file information is transferred along with the files. This protects asset ownership and copyright. Without the use of metadata, the potential for lost assets is higher if unmarked, assets may be invisible to searches and more vulnerable to misuse.

Another advantage of metadata is that it is the best way to exchange information across systems with different configurations using XMP. This eliminates the need to rely on a variety of different API versions. Instead, Daminion can store metadata in a range of formats, such as image, camera RAW, vector, video, audio, and PDF. Additionally, the database is automatically synchronized with information in EXIF, IPTC, XMP, and MWG formats.

Daminion allows users to export optimized files on demand with selected conversion rules in a single click. This file optimization feature is perfect for uploading content to Flickr or Facebook.

For an even more convenient user experience, Daminion can open multiple catalogs in separate tabs simultaneously in modern web browsers. Users can also work with Shared and Local catalogs in the same workspace.

Visit Daminions website to download the beta version, as well as to access community forums and blogs, members-only whitepapers and downloads, and technical support.

Daminion is compatible with Windows 2000, XP, 2003 or 2008 Server, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. The program also requires at least 100MB of free disk space, a Pentium III with 1.0 GHz at the very minimum and at least 256MB of RAM. All currently supported versions of Daminion work on both 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows.
